Company History

Kantner is a privately owned company, led by President and CEO Doug Kantner.

Mr. Kantner founded the company as Euro Proteins in 1999 with a focus on the manufacture and distribution of dairy proteins. Later renamed Kantner Ingredients, the company is located in Wapakoneta, Ohio, a location that also serves as corporate headquarters for the parent company, Kantner.

In 2002, Mr. Kantner became the majority shareholder of Blue Valley Foods, a manufacturer of imitation, substitute, processed and pizza cheeses in Hebron, Nebraska since 1972.

Most recently (2005), Kantner acquired Chianti Cheese, makers of authentic Italian cheeses such as Parmesan and Romano (available grated, shredded or in wheels), asiago, mozzarella, ricotta and provolone. Manufacturing facilities are located in Pemberton, New Jersey and Los Angeles, California.

Our Ohio, Nebraska, California and New Jersey manufacturing facilities are AIB Certified with HACCP programs in place.
